Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASA is looking for additional volunteers to join more than 90 volunteers in Midland and six surrounding counties who are currently serving more than 300 children. These children have been taken from their homes and placed in the custody of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services or CPS.
CASAs are appointed by judges to serve the “best interest” of the child. In doing so, the job of CASA is to become acquainted with every aspect of the child’s life, talking to parents, teachers, physicians, counselors, etc. to determine what the best long-term placement for the child is.
